Nelson Clyde

Nelson Clyde is an executive coach affiliated with Vistage since 2021.  He currently co-leads a dynamic group of CEOs from a wide array of businesses.  In February 2022 he affiliated with Fractional Executive Solutions as a Fractional CEO/Fractional COO and Board Coach.Clyde is a former daily newspaper CEO and Publisher.  He has served on the boards of several family-owned businesses and numerous non-profit and newspaper industry organizations.  His newspaper career began in the 80s during the best of times in the industry. During the early part of his career, he led the sales departments and the transition of technology from Mainframe systems to Best of Breed solutions throughout the organization.He championed efforts to promote a culture of workplace wellness and worked with many team members with tenure of more than 25 years. His publishing career concluded in 2018 as he presided over the sale of his family’s daily newspaper after 5 generations and 108 years of continuous family ownership and management.

Whether in good or challenging times in the publishing industry the need for significant change management and adaptability gave Clyde an opportunity to lead and manage through many different opportunities. Rallying teams around those challenges and meeting them was a key component of his leadership journey.Clyde served on the board of Citizen’s 1st Bank for 15 years and is currently a board member of Pro Star Capital where he serves as Chair of the Compensation Committee. He co-chaired the successful $8.6MM Building for Eternity capital campaign for Grace Community school.His strengths include technology innovation, process improvement, strategy, HR compliance and hiring, and corporate governance.
